Arrest records are a valuable tool to learn more about someone’s current situation as it pertains to criminal matters.

If you want to access a person’s arrest record, you can do so, thanks to the Ohio Public Records Act.1 One option is to search for booking information with individuals who have been arrested and placed in the custody of the Lucas County Corrections Center.2

The booking summary will provide you with the person’s name and arresting agency, as well as the date and time when the individual was arrested and taken into custody. You can also view the inmate’s current status and their mugshot. Lastly, you can find the charges that were brought against the person and the court that is handling the matter.

You now have several different options to access both a person’s arrest and criminal history. Next, you will be provided with the various options available if you want to help someone who is arrested post bail.

How Do I Post Bail for an Arrest Executed in Lucas County?

You may be in a situation where someone you know was arrested for allegedly committing a crime. In most cases, the judge will assign a bail amount. Until bail is posted for the person, they will have to remain in jail while the court decides whether or not they are guilty of the crimes they were charged with.

When bail is posted for a person, it is returned to them as long as the defendant follows court orders and attends all of their hearings. If not, the person or company that posted the bail may lose that money. If you are looking to help a person with their bail, you have the following options:

Self-bail Process: With this option, you are 100% responsible for providing the funds required to post bail. You can post either a cash or property bond. With the latter type, you must use property with enough equity to cover the bail as collateral. The risk is completely with you if the person decides not to show up for their next hearing.

Bail Bondsman: When using this option, you will be required to pay a fee to the bail bondsman for their services (usually 10% of the bail amount). After the fee is paid, the bondsman is solely responsible for paying the bail and any risks associated with the defendant violating court orders associated with their release from jail.

You can use this information to determine which option is better for your situation when considering posting someone’s bail in Lucas County.

You should now be fully equipped to locate any Lucas County arrest records you are seeking; follow the guidance and instructions detailed in this article to increase your chances of success when searching for arrest and other types of criminal records.
